Our recent Ofsted inspection graded the school outstanding for pupil behaviour and for personal development and good for all other areas.
We are delighted with this report which recognises the many strengths of the school and confirms that these been maintained throughout the huge growth which we experienced for our expansion. This change to 11-16 is described as being “effective” and it also shows that pupil behaviour has significantly improved from “Good” in our last Ofsted in 2010 to “Outstanding” now.
The strengths the inspection identifies include:
- GCSE grades well above national averages which are expected to improve further
- Outstanding behaviour
- Outstanding care and support for pupils
- A rich and varied curriculum which “enthuses” students
- Teaching which provides “high levels of challenge” and a “purposeful environment” conducive to learning
