What a week it has been and what a fantastic start to this academic year!
It has been a pleasure to start the year by celebrating our successful GCSE results. These included some outstanding performances in terms of both attainment and progress. Hopefully you have seen our article in the ‘Hinckley Times’.
This was quickly followed by officially starting as co-headteachers and leading the staff training days in preparation for the new term. From then on in, it’s been a bit of a whirlwind! We have welcomed year 7 pupils and their parents/carers into our Hastings family and have been able to welcome back our existing pupils. Our welcome assemblies have focused on what it means to part of our Hastings family and the history of Hastings. It is integral to our success that we all feel part of this and understand the role we all play in it. Please ask your children about the story behind our school badge.
Over the past two days we have visited lots of lessons and the teaching and learning we have seen has been truly outstanding; it feels very much an honour to lead such an amazing school.
The theme of the week seems to have been ‘blisters’! Mrs Campbell, our school welfare officer has now stocked up on plasters to help our pupils (and staff) break in their new shoes!
These blogs will be posted each week to give a little insight into the life of the school and celebrate our pupil’s achievements.
