A full week, celebrations, sore legs and organ donation
The first full week back and the school is already back into the swing of things. I have had the pleasure of visiting lots of lessons and seeing the outstanding work being completed by all pupils and staff across the school. Year 7 have continued to settle in well and are starting to find their way around the school without their maps, which is amazing. They are making the transition look easy!
Miss Bradley and I have been delighted to have celebrated some great successes already this year. Several pupils have received special postcards to recognize their outstanding start to the school year. We are looking forward to continuing this celebration every Friday throughout the year!
The weekend is upon us and for me that will bring some very sore legs! I will be running the Great North Run for an amazing charity, ‘The Bodie Hodges Foundation’. This charity supports families bereaved of a child and also runs education programmes to raise awareness of organ donation. This week is ‘Organ Donation Week’ and we were delighted to welcome Pete Sandford from the charity into school on Tuesday to talk about organ donation to years 9 and 10. Hopefully, they are all wearing their wristbands and have ‘Started the conversation’ at home.
I hope that all of our Hastings family members have an amazing weekend and if you get the chance look out for me on the TV Sunday morning, I will be wearing a bright pink vest and headband!
