Photographs and Community
We have welcomed our pupils back from what we hope was a restful half term break. This week our theme has been ‘Community’ and Miss Bradley and myself have led assemblies on this.
This week I have been privileged to be asked to be photographed as part of a students’ GCSE photography project. I was asked to display various extreme emotions and then have my picture taken from three different angles. I had to display severe anger, neutral, sadness, deep in thought and extreme happiness. This linked to our assemblies as we talked about the All Blacks and their ‘Blue Head’ philosophy. This was about making sure they make the right decisions under pressure and do not resort to some of the emotions l was asked to display for the photos. We talked to pupils about how they can be calm and make the right choices in all situations, keeping a Blue (Hastings) Head.
This afternoon we were again able to celebrate outstanding contributions to our community, these ranged from recruiting people for an extra-curricular club, to helping members of staff, to supporting students in need. We are privileged to have students like this at our school!
I look forwards to seeing the results of the Art project and will share them later in the year,
Mr Shipman
