Careers and Post 16 Guidance
Effective and independent careers guidance is an important part of the broad and balanced education which we provide.
Careers advice begins in year 8 with units in the personal development days. These include activities to develop work readiness skills such as team working.
In year 9 we have a full programme of events to support the pupils as they make their option choices. We have a wide range of GCSE options which include academic and practical courses.
The careers programme in Key Stage 4 includes a range of activities to enable pupils to make the transition to post 16 successfully. These include:
- Regular advice and support
- Practice interviews carried out by external providers
- Post 16 taster days
- Careers trips to relevant careers fairs
- Work experience week
